The first zone that has been active in the city-center before establishment of organized industrial zones and small industry sites has been the Nizip Street, 150 firms are active in this region, In general, the firms which are active in this region manufacture plastics shoes, flour, semolina, carpet, acrylic thread, cotton thread and metal goods. Information Office for European Union Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce: The "Turkish Regional Information Network" that has been started in 1996 by the Turkish Representative of European Council, has been realized in Gaziantep, the first time. The first of information Offices for European Union has been established within the structure of Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce.

Scope of this Office is to provide for requests of local information in the subjects of European Union and especially the relations of European Union and Turkey, This Office has replied to more that 700 information requests during three years based on monthly 15-20 applications in average, Additionally, this Office has affected the distribution of almost 12 thousand publications about EU in total that have been translated into Turkish by the Turkish Representative of European Council, It has organized 16 seminars and conferences, made researches related to Customs Union, developed business and professional training projects, arranged for cultural and artistic activities such as film festivals, cartoon exhibition, concerts, contests of literary composition and painting.
